Heather Davis LPC, M, Ed.
I grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. In 2000, I earned my Bachelor degree in Human Development with a specialization in Early Childhood and a minor in General Business. I later completed a post-baccalaureate teaching certification for Early Childhood through 4th Grade in 2007.
For the next eleven years, I worked as an elementary school teacher. While I enjoyed helping students develop academically, one of my greatest strengths was building meaningful relationships with students and their families. Throughout my teaching career, I worked closely with parents to identify and address behavioral, academic, emotional, and cognitive concerns affecting their children. Supporting families through challenges and celebrating their successes helped me recognize the profound impact that connection, understanding, and support can have on a person's life.
As I developed authentic relationships with children, parents, single parents, and families from diverse backgrounds, I found myself increasingly drawn to helping people navigate the emotional and relational challenges that often exist beneath the surface. This passion led me to return to school in 2018 to pursue a Master degree in Mental Health Counseling at Texas Tech University.
In 2023, I moved to Midland, Texas, to begin the next chapter of my professional journey. I worked in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of two experienced clinical supervisors, where I gained valuable experience working with individuals, adolescents, women, and couples facing a variety of mental health and life challenges. After completing all state requirements, I became fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas.
Today, I am the founder of Pathways to Progress Counseling, where I provide counseling services to adolescents, adults, women, and couples. My work is grounded in the belief that progress is not linear. Healing and growth rarely happen in a straight line, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences, gain insight, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change at their own pace.
My counseling approach is trauma-informed, relationship-focused, and rooted in genuine connection. I believe that understanding our past experiences can help us better understand our present struggles, whether those involve anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve us.
It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they discover their strengths, heal from life's challenges, and create a path forward that aligns with who they are and who they want to become.
Because progress is not linear—but every step forward matters.
